Finance Manager – Touring

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic finance professional to join our growing team in Bristol.

Our tours have stopped at hundreds of world class event spaces, from stadium shows in New Zealand, castles in Wales and vineyard shows in Australia to open air concerts under the stars in the Middle East.

We also own or operate multiple venues across the UK including Tramshed and Globe in Cardiff, The Mill in Birmingham and Camden Assembly and XOYO in London.

The Role

The Finance Manager, Touring will be responsible for the accurate accounting, forecasting and reporting of the UK Touring division. The successful candidate will act as finance business partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and operational teams, working alongside the Corporate Finance Manager to ensure that robust financial controls are in place.

You will be able to work and communicate effectively to influence and implement change, identifying new ways of working to enhance existing finance processes and reporting to help drive performance across the division. Reporting to the Finance Director (FD), responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the CEO and FD to accurately report the financial performance of each tour on a timely basis and provide iterative reforecasting to key stakeholders to identify material changes compared to budget or previous forecast.
  • Ensure each tour is settled on a timely basis (including withholding tax implications) and that robust controls are in place to reconcile ticket income to third party platforms.
  • Ensure consistent and timely communication with the business to identify issues or concerns that may impact the achievement of financial performance of a tour.
  • Partner with the division to ensure that all transactions are recorded and that invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner including oversight of credit card expenses processed by the respective cardholder.
  • Manage the financial accounting process including internal reporting, invoicing, and booking journals in the finance system.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and implement changes to the financial control framework to ensure that the division maintains robust controls.
  • Provide ad hoc finance related decision support and innovative solutions to the finance function and wider business.
  • Produce cashflow forecasting and reporting to enhance the accuracy and visibility of the divisional cash requirements.
  • Other ad hoc support as required including audit support, business forecasting requirements e.g. Monthly Forecasting to Corporate/Group reporting team

The Person

We are looking for a qualified accountant with post qualified experience, have excellent attention to detail and demonstrable experience of managing month end financial reporting and accounting processes.

You will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to partner with the business to understand financial performance and drive results. You will be able to produce information accurately and to the stipulated deadlines, follow up queries and obtain explanations of variances to budget and work on your own initiative to be proactive in dealing with issues. Experience of implementing new processes and procedures would be advantageous.

Knowledge of financial systems and Excel to an advanced standard is a key requirement of the role.

Previous venue or live entertainment industry experience would be highly regarded.
